What Causes a Wart?
Once a wart starts growing it develops its own blood supply and nerve endings. This is why it is painful when you step on it a certain way and also why it sometimes will bleed if you try to trim off the outer layer of tough skin. Some warts will go away by themselves while others remain for years.
The Most Effective Wart Treatment
Dr. Roger Friedman, of Advanced Foot-Care and Laser Center in Elyria, has been successfully treating warts with lasers for over 25 years. He is sometimes referred to as "The Wart King of Lorain County" because he has treated so many warts. The two different types of lasers Dr. Friedman uses are:
Pulsed dye laser – This treatment focuses on starving the wart by attacking the blood supply to the wart which will eventually kill it and the wart will fall off. This is our most popular treatment as it allows immediate return to all activities. There is no wound created and no special care required.
Carbon dioxide laser – This laser actually "vaporizes" the wart tissue - no more wart! This treatment does create a wound, so care must be taken afterwards to allow for proper healing.
If you have a stubborn wart and have tried over-the-counter treatments, give Dr. Friedman's office a call at 440-934-8444. His advanced treatments with two different kinds of lasers can help when other treatments have failed. His office also treats common warts of the hands with the laser. Our office at 5321 Meadow Lane Court in Elyria, is conveniently located just north of Lorain County Community College. Please call us for an appointment today to get rid of your wart.
