Dr. Roger Friedman, of Advanced Foot Care and Laser Center, with over 27 years of experience treating the residents of Lorain County and Northeast Ohio, talks about his Podiatry practice.
Dr Friedman: Well first, I should clarify that my office is technically in Sheffield Village, but just a stone's throw from the Avon border and a great number of my patients are from Avon, Avon Lake and the surrounding communities.
I would have to say that over the past 27 years, there are a handful of foot and ankle conditions that I can pretty much count on seeing everyday in my office. In no particular order these include ingrown toenails, fungus toenails, heel pain, plantar warts, diabetic foot problems, corns and calluses, skin rashes such as athletes foot, bunions and other foot deformities, foot injuries, and generalized foot pain. The treatment for all of these vary and it is the variety of conditions and treatments that I encounter each day that makes my practice interesting and exciting to make as my life's work. The fact that I am able to make most of my patients feel better than when they came in is very gratifying.
Foot pain affects your entire being. We are a very mobile society and anything that impairs that mobility greatly impacts our day to day lives. By helping to alleviate a patient's painful foot condition I am helping to improve their quality of life. Even something as simple as an elderly patient with thick, deformed and painful toenails, who is unable to trim them, can be treated in my office and walk out feeling 100% better than when they came in.
As a general practitioner of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, I treat everything from toenail problems to major structural foot deformities which may require extensive foot surgery. I have treated infants as young as one month, to adults over 100 years old and all ages in between. Most conditions can be treated in my office however I am also on the staff of St. John Medical Center, Elyria Regional Health Center, and Mercy Lorain and Mercy Allen Regional Health Centers if hospitalization is required. Outpatient surgery can be performed at one of the hospitals mentioned or at the Premium Surgery Center.
If you have any questions concerning Podiatry care for yourself or your family, please call my office at 440-934-8444 or use my online appointment form found on my website at www.RogerFriedman.com.
I look forward to getting you back on your feet fast!
